Playlist #015


Today's Playlist: August 28, 2017


  1. Review the ROC process in Quizlet.
  2. Silent read Chapter 1, Sections 1 and 2. Pages 6-17. You may read using either a physical textbook or the digital version which you can find here. Textbooks are near the water fountain. If you use a physical book, return it before you leave class.
  3. Complete your first ROC in Google Classroom on Chapter 1 section 1. We will complete a different assignment on Wednesday that will include section 2.
  4. DO NOT TURN YOUR ROC IN. We will look at them tomorrow and check for mistakes then TURN IN during your history class.
  5. Read this biographical article on Pocahontas and complete the quiz. If you have any additional time, read more articles in Newsela.

  1. Complete the “Friend Finder” activity and read these two Newsela Articles: One and Two. Complete the quizzes for both in Newsela, then complete this exit ticket.
  2. Then choose two other articles that have been assigned to you in Newsela, read them and take a quiz on each before the period is over.
  3. With the time remaining do one of the following: Read additional items of your choice in Newsela or study the Colonial America sets that are assigned to you in Quizlet.

  1. Start and complete your State Presentation with a table team. One team member collects it from Classroom and shares it with teammates. DO NOT open your own copy. Choose a team of three or four (three is better) to work with.
  2. Get one copy per table of the presentation rubric from Mr. Welch. Put your names and info on the rubric, then turn submit through Google Classroom to Mr. Welch.
  3. Start giving your presentations if we have time, we will finish tomorrow.

  2. Set up the Chromebooks at your table in a DIAMOND.
    1. Login to Go Formative using your Google ID, be sure to click the button that asks if you are a student.
    2. Close ALL Tabs except Go Formative.
  3. Take the quiz that has been assigned to you. This is a quiz/test grade. You may not look at any resource on or off of the computer during this quiz.

  2. Quizlet Live: US State Flags. Go to https://quizlet.live enter the join code.
  3. You will have 20 minutes to complete any unfinished Geography activities. If you are finished with all of them practice the geography sets assigned to you in Quizlet.
  4. If you are finished with your Geo activities, finish reading any Newsela articles that have been assigned.

  1. Go to Google Classroom. Find the announcement that asks you to click the link to join Quizlet. Click the link, then click “Sign in with Google”. We will begin to use Quizlet soon.
  2. Finish and TURN IN all Geography activities as you finish them. We will have about 20 minutes of the period tomorrow to finish these up and turn them in. If you don’t have at least two pages done as of the end of the period, you should spend some time in them at home this weekend.
  3. If you have additional time you may practice the Quizlet sets that have been assigned to you on Geography topics. We will use these sets to play Quizlet Live soon.

  1. Go to Newsela, make sure you are signed in (Click "Sign In," then "Sign In With Google"). Read this article: https://newsela.com/articles/jamestown-discovery/id/11467/  complete complete the quiz and a “#Hashtag the Article” form.
  2. There will be a geography quiz on Friday covering the information in task 3.
  3. Then begin working on the interactive Geography activities, finish at least one page today and begin a second page. You will have time tomorrow to complete the second and third pages. You must have turned in at least one before you leave today. Turn each in when complete. You must attach screenshots to your activity pages to prove that you have completed each section.
